Welcome to EMS Doha Library
What a better way to start off a new school year than with lots of NEW BOOKS! That's right! We have already received new books for everyone to enjoy most especially the students. We hopefully will get the books ready for borrowing by 16th Septemeber.

We also welcome Ms. Nuala Reid (Secondary Teacher Librarian) and Ms. Liz Carillo (Secondary Assistant Librarian) to the library team this year. They are both very positive and excited to meet and welcome students from secondary school. Any concerns regarding the Secondary library should be directed to nuala.reid@emsdoha.net



Here is the new look of the secondary library which is now a little smaller in space BUT not in collection and services. Student entrance remains through Block A upper floor. 



 Reminder
The Primary Library Class Schedule has been shared to primary teachers this week. If you have not added your name and class into yet, please do so before the student library orientation begins on 9th of September. For questions regarding library schedule, please send an email to maria.carillo@emsdoha.net
Library Hours
Primary library is open to students for visit ONLY on the following timings:

 Before school       6:45-7:05am
1st Break             9:30-9:50am
After school         1:45-2:20pm

 Secondary library breaktime sessions will commence from Sunday, 2nd of September. After school until 2:30pm (Sun-Wed). NO after school on Thursdays.

Dates to Remember
Primary student library orientation: 9th-13th September
Book borrowing begins: 16th September

Check out all the pictures HERE Battle of the Books The Local Battle of the Books has successfully ended this week. We are happy that students accomplished much from the experience and that they also had fun . I cannot thank the Primary teachers enough for encouraging their students to participate and keeping them focused for the months leading up to the competition.  Special thanks to Ms. Annie, Mr. Lewis, Mr. John for taking time out of your busy schedule to read questions and Ms. Zoobia. Ms. Laurie and Ms. Annie for bringing your classes to help cheer the Elementary finalists, as well as Ms. Sandy and Mr. Carl . This support has helped made all the finalists feel like champions! Unfortunately with some teams losing, they were devastated but thank you to the library team and teachers who helped comfort them. EMS Doha Library Weekly Update: March 1, 2018

Chat  Bubble Ms. Mareena will be a part of the Libraries Chat Bubble feature next week Sunday and Monday, but the focus will be on YEAR 9 students only . Please encourage Year 9 students to attend as Ms. Mareena will share how they could get involved in the above advertised speech competition, allowing them to discuss a topic of their choice.   The competition will be held on   Wednesday, March 28th . Selected students will have transportation provided from school.    -Ms Mareena Chromebook Orientation Next week , Ms. Mareena and Mr. Dean will be doing the chromebook orientation organised by Ms. Mareena. I have sent out an email to all english teachers to fill in their name and class details in the available time  slots they would like to attend next week. Your energy and character will be missed in the library (as well as your baked goodies).
